Verizon to Akon: smack that, don't rape that
You know a story's messed up when you can prefix it with the phrase "even R. Kelly would've known better."
In response to an April 12 performance in Trinidad, where Akon brought a 15-year-old girl onstage and simulated raping her, Verizon Wireless just announced that they're cutting ties with the Hip Hop singer. Verizon had been set to sponsor a joint Gwen Stefani/Akon tour and had been using him as a featured artist on their cell phone music services.
The bizarre encounter began with Akon announcing an onstage dance contest with a "trip to Africa" as the prize. When the 15-year-old was declared the winner, Akon revealed in a flimsy double entendre that he was the "trip to Africa" and began dry humping her like a hardcore Night at the Roxbury sketch.
Akon's claiming he had no way of knowing that there was a 15-year-old at his 18 and over show; a befuddling defense that basically boils down to rape is okay… as long as she’s above the age of consent.

Akon did nothing wrong. She should not have been there. He has a right to stand up 4 his self. Its her fought so she should b da 1 sayin sorry to him. He was not in da wrong.
i used to like akon and thought his songs were ok, but now i think that he is a dirty son of a bitch. He is a purevt and I will never listen to his music again. I am going to delete him off my Ipod!!!!!!!!!!! i hate him now. i can't believe he did that, i was speachless when i saw him do that to her. i wonder if he will ever make a cd again or go o tour again SUCK IT AKON. if he does i hope nobody buys it or goes to the concert. We all need to make a statement not to support is actions. This was a wong thing to do and never do it again.
the girl should of never been @ the club.akon thoght she was over 18.he should not say sorry.he did nothing wrong.there are alot of diffrent things going on .i go to northside high school and people are saying she was raped.he killed her.but only akon and the girl no EVERY THING that happend that night.but as far as i no he did not do nothing wrong.the girl should be in troble for being in an over age club
