Apparently a Wine Phone is just a normal LG Chocolate, coated in a burgundy finish... what no free booze?

Anyway, that explanation did make sense, meaning past tense. See the original Wine Phone that was released in Korea in 2007 was burgundy, but the new version of the Wine series being marketed to the international market is actually black and pink, observe:

I would have to say that this phone is a little bit too glossy looking, but still a very beautiful and unique cell phone. Each one of these phones comes with accessories that can snap on and can totally change the look of the cell phone.
