Canada to iPhone central: stop trying to help!

Okay, I'm not Canadian, but if I was that's totally what I'd be saying right now.
See in response to the too long three year commitment and exorbitantly over-priced data plan Roger Communications has been asking prospective iPhone 3G customers to sign on the dotted line for, an online petition began circulating, with Canadians asking Steve Jobs to personally do something about it.
Well almost 50,000 signatures later, Apple is doing something about it, although not anything especially helpful. Apple Insider is reporting that come Friday, when the iPhone 3G very publically launches, in Canada it will only be available at Rogers Communications store, not in Canadian Apple Stores.
Additionally, it appears is only going to be supplying Rogers with between 10-20 3G iPhones per store at launch, which I guess is meant to punish Rogers for their high prices but seems to be punishing Canadians just as much.
Instead of having to pay to much for an iPhone, now they can't even have one at all.
