Pharos Traveler 137 has a unique set up
The business model of the Pharos Traveler 137 is more unique than any of it's features.
First of all, the GPS travel phone is being marketed with the unusual strategy of not partnering with any carriers, meaning it's price is an unsubsidized $600. Second, in America it supports both AT&T and T-Mobile times of 3G, which is kind of rare. And thirdly, the pricing structure on their maps is really unique.
Best Buy to start selling used iPhones
Is there really a market for used iPhones that are just $50 cheaper?
I guess we're about to find out, as Best Buy has just announced that 300 of their stores will begin offering refurbished iPhones, $149 for the 8GB version, $249 for the 16GB version, still only a two year AT&T contract. Over the holidays AT&T's own website was offering used iPhones for $50, so Best Buy's pricing has already been over shadowed.
Kogan Agora: the other Android phone
Want Google Android but hate the specs on the G1? There will be at least one other alternative on January 29.
Thought the Kogan Agora is native to the Australian and New Zealand, Kogan is selling Agoras internationally unlocked. For a mere $299, or $343.85 if you want the thing actually shipped to you, you'll get a QWERTY phone that has Android OS, runs on 3G, and features a 2.5 inch LCD touch screen.

Steve Jobs finally addresses his health
In an open letter to the "Apple Community", Steve Jobs has finally opened up about what's been causing his dramatic weight loss, and, at least if he's to be taken at his word, it's unrelated to the pancreatic cancer that nearly killed him a few years ago. Rather, his latest condition is being caused by a hormonal imbalance that is completely treatable:
Hot girl gets first Google Android tattoo
You know a piece of tech has entered into pop culture when a hot chick wants to desecrate her body with it's image.
This 23-year-old, Natalie "Kommodore" Thompson from Houston Texas decided to have the Google Android robot tattooed on her arm, not because she's such a fan of Android because she's such a big supporter of the idea of open source operating systems.
Anyway, I don't know if open source is around for good, but appears that tattoo is.
Cell Phone soap opera preaches safe sex
Would watching a cheesy PSA make you less or more likely to wear a rubber during sex?
That's what the National Institutes of Health is trying to assess, as they've given a $2 million grant to Rachel Jones, a faculty member at Rutgers College to study if viewing a specially made soap opera on a cell phone will convince New Jersey woman ages 18-25 to use condoms. The control group in the study of 250 woman will just receive text messages urging sex safe.
Apple patents iPhone glove
It looks like some Apple executive got really pissed trying to type on his iPhone in cold weather.
